<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor which has sufficient strength and prevents gas leaking out into other than piping, when it is fixed thereto. <P>SOLUTION: In a hydrogen gas sensor, a detection element (7) is housed in a tubular first support (3) so that it is placed on a base (19) thereof, while directing a first electrode (13) toward the tip side and directing a second electrode (17) toward the proximal end side, that is, while directing the plate-like detection element (7) perpendicular to the axial direction of the first support (3). The detection element (7) is arranged between the first support (3) and a second support (9) provided with a discharge path (35) which extends laterally. Ejection gas, pumped out of a first electrode (15) side to the second electrode (17) side, is ejected to the tip side of the hydrogen gas sensor from an ejection cavity (51) through the discharge path (35) of the second support (9) and a sidewall vent (29). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
