Dimensionally stable mounting for a precision measurement element comprises a rod (10) in which mounting partners of different coefficients of heat expansion and different matched lengths are mounted. The rod has lower thermal expansion than the various partners. The different partners and rod can expand due to heat relative to each other in an unhindered manner. The mounting comprises a housing (1) with a base (2) and an outer stop (3). Contained within the housing is an inner cylinder. Both partners are connected to a transverse plate (9) by a threaded rod (6) and a nut (8).
