PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a loading component with which more superior optical coupling is obtained between an optical component and a semiconductor optical element. SOLUTION: A component loading part 23 of the loading component 21 has a loading face 23a for loading the semiconductor optical element. An optical component support 25 of the loading component 21 has a pair of end faces 25a and 25b, a positioning face 25c, first and second supporting faces 25d and 25e and an opening 25f. The positioning face 25c is used for positioning the optical component. The first and the second supporting faces 25d and 25e are arranged along a pair of the ends 25a and 25b. The first and the second supporting faces 25d and 25e are confronted with the positioning face 25c. An opening 25g in the optical component support 25 extends to the direction of a second axis (X-axis direction) from the positioning face and it is installed so that light from the semiconductor optical element can pass through.
