PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve output torque characteristics of a reluctance motor by effectively stopping the flow of magnetic flux to a q-axis side without reducing the flow of the magnetic flux of a d-axis side. SOLUTION: A slit 4 including a plurality of slits 4a each formed in an inverted circular arc shape, which are disposed in a multilayer along the radial direction of a rotor 10 disposed at the inside of a stator for generating a revolving magnetic field and in which vertexes of the circular arcs are directed toward a rotor rotary shaft 3 side is formed by the predetermined number of poles at equal intervals along the circumferential direction of the rotor. Further, a flux barrier 11 of the shape in which a width is gradually narrowed from the rotor rotary shaft 3 side toward the outer peripheral side of the rotor, is formed in a region between the adjacent slits 4, 4 and the rotor rotary shaft 3 on the d-axis.
