<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently and precisely read a bar code by preventing degradation of read precision due to an operation environment such as dispersion of the distance between a read face and the bar code and black thickening of a black bar. <P>SOLUTION: A cutting part 5a cuts a part which appears a bar code signal from a photoelectric conversion signal. Then, a narrow band differential processing part 5b performs differential processing by using a module frequency and prepares a waveform of an edge. A module point extraction part 5d extracts a module point from the waveform. An edge emphasis processing part 5f detects black thickening of the black bar and a white thickening part of a white bar, emphasizes the edge of a pertinent part and amplifies the edge amplitude. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
