The ink supply to an ink jet printer is provided by four ink cartridges (T1-T4) that each fit into a docking unit. At the rear of the unit are four ink supply connection points (A1-4) that connect with the print head. Between the connectors and the cartridges is a distributor unit (3). A pump is controlled by an electronic circuit (4) and over flow is fed to a tank (5).
