Egg box with semi-ovoid cavities

The egg packing has a top section (2) hinge-connected to a bottom section (1) by a hinge (3) located on the rear longitudinal side. The bottom section has several cells to hold the eggs and which are in the form of semi-ovoid preformed recesses (12) which have at least one inwards convexity (15) in a region below an equatorial plane. The inwards convexity is spherical in design. The radius of curvature of the inwards convexity is between a third and two-thirds of the average radius of curvature of the preformed recess.
