摘要 PURPOSE: A plasma display panel using an auxiliary electrode for achieving high luminous efficiency and reducing a sustain voltage and a method for driving the same are provided to increase discharge efficiency and to reduce the driving sustain voltage. CONSTITUTION: A plasma display panel using an auxiliary electrode for achieving high luminous efficiency and reducing a sustain voltage includes a top substrate, a bottom substrate and a plurality of auxiliary electrodes(A). The top substrate has a plurality of sustain electrodes(X) formed in parallel pattern and a plurality of scan electrodes(Y) formed in parallel pattern. The bottom substrate has a plurality of address electrodes formed in parallel pattern crossing with the sustain electrodes(X) and the scan electrodes(Y). And, the plurality of auxiliary electrodes(A) are inserted between the sustain electrodes(X) and the scan electrodes(Y) located on the top substrate and are formed in a pattern parallel to the sustain electrodes(X) and the scan electrodes(Y).
