METHOD FOR FORMING RATE COMPATIBLE CODE BY DISCRIMINATING PARITY A BLOCK USING HIGH DIMENSIONAL PRODUCT CODE AND FIXING A PUNCHING PATTERN OF EACH PARITY BLOCK

PURPOSE: A method for forming a rate compatible code using a high dimensional product code is provided to form the rate compatible code by discriminating a parity block with the m-dimensional product code and fixing a punching pattern of each parity block. CONSTITUTION: The product code is formed to each axis by using a systematic block code(201). A number of all blocks is found out by discriminating the blocks forming the product code into an information word block and the parity block(202). A discriminator of each block is represented as a binary number(203). A combination of the 1-dimensional code is formed by finding out the information word block and the blocks to form the 1-dimensional code(206). All combinations generated when the combination of the 1-dimensional code and the rest blocks are used are found out for the combination of the 1-dimensional code(207). Only the combination matched with a condition is selected by checking that the respective blocks are close with each other(208). Only the combination making a decoding performance get better as the number of the parity forming the code is increased is selectively selected(212).
