PURPOSE: An optical member, a fabricating method thereof, an adhesive optical member, and an image display device are provided to enhance the water resistance by coating a water-repellent material on an end face of an optical film. CONSTITUTION: An optical member includes one or more optical films. A water-repellent material is coated on an end face of the optical fiber. The optical film includes a polarizing plate(1). The water-repellent material is coated on at least one end face of the polarizing plate. The optical film includes the polarizing plate having a polarizer which is formed with polyvinyl alcohol as a main material. The water-repellent material is coated on at least one end face of the polarizer.
