PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem on a conventional method in which water is heated only by microwaves to generate steam for steam cooking, that it requires a time for generating the steam, resulting in a longer cooking time. SOLUTION: This steam cooker comprises a range baking square plate 6a having a heating element 9 for absorbing microwaves to generate heat and formed of a microwave permeable material for heating water stored therein with the microwaves and the heat of the heating element 9 to generate steam, a metal food placement ball 11 arranged on the range baking square plate 6a and having a cooking plane 27 on which foods are placed and a through-hole in the cooking plane 27 through which steam passes, and a metal cover 10 for covering the foods placed on the food placement ball 11.
