PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the track density of a magneto-optical disk higher and to make it possible to perform stable tracking servo and seeking.

SOLUTION: First grooves Gv 1, second grooves Gv 2, and third grooves Gv 3 are formed on the magneto-optical disk so as to be arranged adjacently to each other. The first grooves Gv 1 and the second grooves Gv 2 are deep grooves while the third grooves Gv 3 are shallow grooves. The first grooves Gv 1 and the second grooves Gv 2 are wobbled. The grooves are so formed that data are recorded to four recording tracks, that is: the two deep grooves; and the two lands between the shallow grooves and the deep grooves. A CTS signal is derived by the sum signal (A+B+C+D) of a photodetector 6 and a push-pull signal is derived by the differential signal (A+D)-(B+C) of a photodetector 8.
