PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a winding method by which wires are wound without gap on each magnetic pole of an armature provided with a commutator, and that causes less bulging of coil end portions. SOLUTION: In winding the magnetic poles of the armature, without employing the lap winding method by which wires are wound astriding a plurality of magnetic poles, a concentrated winding method is employed by which the wires are wound on each magnetic pole for each winding. In this case, the wires are wound by inserting a restricting member, that restricts the winding rage of the wires, into slots on both sides of the magnetic poles, on which the wires are wound.
