PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a car washing machine detecting positions of automobiles, number plates and projecting objects that may cause abnormalities and troubles by imaging automobiles entering the car washing machine by a camera device, and safely and effectively washing the automobiles with little left unwashed. SOLUTION: According to a stop position of the automobile, guide output is performed. In accordance with a position of a number plate on the front face of the automobile, a measure to prevent bending of the number plate is taken. According to positions of projecting objects in the automobile width direction, only washing the sides having the projected objects is avoided. When the positions of the number plate and the projecting objects cannot be confirmed, assuming that the number plates and the projecting objects exist, the same preventive measure and avoiding operation as conventional ones are performed, without stopping washing of the automobile.
