PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for detecting a fraudulent act that can quickly find a fraudulent game by a fraudulent tool using an electromagnetic solenoid. SOLUTION: The fraudulent detection method in a rotary drum game machine judges a win or a failure by rotating reels on which winning pieces and failure pieces are arranged and stopping optional pieces in response to the throwing-in of a medal and puts out medals when having judged a win. The fraudulent act detection device in a rotary drum type game machine is provided with a replay piece stopping area 3 in which a replay lamp L is to be lit in the vicinity of the winning piece stopping area 3 of a reel 1, a light sensor 4 or an electric current sensor 5 detecting the frequency of lighting of the replay lamp L, a counter 7 counting the lighting of the replay lamp L, a judgment circuit 8 judging whether the frequency of lighting of the replay lamp L is equal to or higher than a standard value and a warning circuit 8 and a warning device 10 generating a warning when the frequency of lighting is judged to be equal to or higher than the standard value.
