PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fixing unit in which a magenta thermosensitive coloring layer is prevented from being fixed optically with yellow fixing light at a low cost. SOLUTION: The fixing unit 20 is disposed oppositely to the carrying passage of a color thermosensitive recording sheet 11 and comprises a substrate 21, fixing light sources 22 and 23 mounted on the lower surface of the substrate 21, and a short wavelength cut filter 24. The fixing light source 22 has, with LEDs 25 for Y having an emission peak wavelength of 435 nm arranged in matrix and mounted on the substrate 21. The fixing light source 22 irradiates the thermally recorded yellow thermosensitive coloring layer of the color thermosensitive recording sheet 11 with yellow fixing light. On the lower surface of the fixing light source 22, the short wavelength cut filter 24 is mounted in order to cut the light in such a wavelength region as fixing the magenta thermosensitive coloring layer optically thus preventing the magenta thermal coloring layer from being fixed optically with the yellow fixing light.
