PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a printing time while suppressing the amount of expendables to be consumed to reduce a running cost by substituting an expression method such as a character or a figure with a simple separate expression method such as a bit map font, a mark or the like possessed by an image forming apparatus when draft printing for confirming the proofreading of documents, the arrangement of characters or figures, or the like is performed in a case that the character or figure data transmitted from an upper order device is printed on paper. SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus having a draft printing function, the data designated in transmission data is substituted with data capable of being rapidly developed as an image when draft printing is designated.
