PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide concentrated damping water for printing which can reduce cutting of paper and emulsification-derived troubles and the like without sacrificing the feature of reduced spoilage during the build-up transient of printing, and to provide use thereof. SOLUTION: This concentrated damping water composition for printing contains at least one compound represented by general formula (I) and/or at least one compound represented by general formula (II) and at least one compound represented by general formula (III). In general formula (I), a, b, and c are each an integer of 1 or more, the molecular weight of propylene oxide is 1000 to 3000, and the content of the ethylene oxide in the compound is 10 to 40 mass%. In general formula (II), R represents a hydrocarbon group having 8 to 18 carbon atoms, m is an integer of 11 to 30, and n is an integer of n<m.
