<p>Core element (1) for use in a mold (7) in the production of hollow block moldings, especially of concrete, consists of a core holder (2) and at least one core (5) constructed from a support plate (3, 3a, 3b) welded onto the core holder and a core panel (4) fixed on the support plate and forming the outer sleeve of the core. The support plate is welded on the core holder and the core panel is welded on the support plate in a neutral zone in which no distortion occurs during welding.
