<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exterior case which is used both for sales and for rental. <P>SOLUTION: The exterior case comprises a case body 14 comprising a storage chamber having a side wall on both sides, an opening part with a cassette attachable/detachable by opening an upper end of the storage chamber, and supporting walls 28 and 29 erected from both sides of a bottom wall of the storage chamber toward the opening part, and an attachably/detachably fitting member 40 which is selectively attachable/detachable to the position of closing the opening part or the position mounted on the supporting walls. A sales case to store a cassette is constituted when the opening part is closed by the attachably/detachably fitting member.
