<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To practically prevent the leakage of personal information or the like by providing storage and retrieval system for an electronic document file that precludes a risk of immediate personal information leakage even upon external leakage of electronic document information. <P>SOLUTION: For storage and retrieval, an electronic document (image data or electronic form file) is saved by file segmentation in a plurality of servers, and the stored electronic document can be retrieved. Under the distributed location of segment files in the plurality of servers, even if the content of the electronic document in a single server leaks out, it is only segmental partial file information and can not be information by which the content can be identified, so that damage can be substantially avoided.
