PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retrieval support device capable of simplifying a user's operation for refined retrieval and determining a retrieval word enabling a sure refined retrieval. SOLUTION: This information retrieval support device 100 comprises a retrieval condition determination processing part 101 and a relevant term database 102. The retrieval field determination part 103 of the processing part 101 determines a retrieval field corresponding to a reference keyword inputted by the user. The limiting retrieval word determination part 104 of the processing part 101 extracts a relevant keyword from the relevant term database 102 based on the determined retrieval field, and determines the retrieval word for limiting the retrieval on the basis of the number of retrieval results acquired based on a retrieval condition consisting of the reference keyword and each relevant keyword connected thereto.
