<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase operability by preventing misoperations, and enabling use of specific functions without being conscious of operating method. <P>SOLUTION: A final workmanship image, a fundamental set state, a workmanship image selection button are displayed in a standby state etc. such as situation when copying is not performed. If workmanship image selection is selected by touch panel input, a workmanship image selection screen is displayed, and a desired workmanship image can be selected. When the workmanship image is settled, a copy mode necessary at the minimum for obtaining the selected workmanship image is set, and determines whether or not there are any other copy modes necessary for obtaining the selected workmanship image. If all the necessary copy modes are settled, a screen goes back to an initial screen. If none of the necessary copy modes have been settled yet, an input setting screen for the copy modes being lacking is displayed, and setting input is urged.
