The water faucet fitting, especially hot/cold water mixers and shut-off assemblies, is metal with chromium plated visible surface. The inner surfaces, defining water flow paths, are coated with fluoropolymer to prevent chromium being deposited on them during plating; or the coating covers chromium deposits from the plating, to prevent chromium entering the drinking water.
