<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display an error signal in the case of the insufficient quantity of a fluid sample. <P>SOLUTION: This method for measuring the concentration of an analytical object in the fluid sample includes preparation of an electrochemical sensor matched so as to measure the analytical object in the sample. The sample covers sufficiently a counter electrode and a working electrode of the electrochemical sensor. The first electric potential is applied between the counter electrode and the working electrode as long as the first prescribed period, and a current is measured, and the time is recorded. After removing or substantially reducing the first electric potential, the second electric potential is applied between the counter electrode and the working electrode, and a current is measured. The concentration of the analytical object in the sample is measured as a function of the measured current. An index is calculated and compared with at least one prescribed parameter, and, when a deviation exists, the time when the deviation exceeds a prescribed threshold is discriminated.
