PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL device capable of restraining a light-emitting property of an organic EL layer from deterioration. SOLUTION: On the organic EL display device, a plurality of gate signal lines and drain signal lines crossing the gate signal lines are formed on a surface of a plate, and areas surrounded by those gate lines are to be pixel areas. A thin film transistor operating by a scanning signal from the gate signal lines, a pixel electrode to which an image signal is supplied from the drain signal lines through the thin film transistor, an opposing electrode functioning as a standard for the image signal, and the organic EL layer pinched between the pixel electrode and the opposing electrode are formed on each pixel area. Further, the organic EL display device has a bank film at least covering each signal line and formed with the pixel electrode exposed, and the organic EL layer formed on an upper part of the pixel electrode is formed so as not to touch the bank film.
