PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data tracing device prepared for a programmable controller and capable of improving maintenance and reliability by inexpensively realizing the device by limited hardware. SOLUTION: The data tracing device for the PLC (programmable controller) 1 is realized by a personal computer 14. The personal computer 14 is provided with a data transmitting/receiving communication means allowed to be connected to the PLC1 to read out information stored in the PLC 1 by using a communication program and a communication terminal 8 loaded on the programmable controller side in order to connect a programming device of the PLC 1 essentially called as a programming loader or the like.
