A measurement system comprises a chamber (15) containing a pressure sensor (16), and an entry passage (13) leading upwardly into the chamber (15). The arrangement is such that, as the level of a liquid in the entry passage (13) increases, the pressure within the chamber (15) increases, and the configuration of the entry passage (13) is such that the cross-sectional area thereof reduces with height.
