PURPOSE: A chargeable gift certificate for charging a prepayment card and a charging method using the same are provided to make a user charge the prepayment card conveniently regardless of time and place by using the gift certificate used only for charging the chargeable prepayment card. CONSTITUTION: The chargeable gift certificate(1) including the predetermined charge price information, the gift certificate ID information, and the issuer ID information is provided to the user(20). As the user transmits the gift certificate ID information and a prepayment card number through a data communication network, the prepayment card(22) is charged with the predetermined price. A charge management system charges the prepayment card with the predetermined price from an issuer's account linked with the issuer ID information of the chargeable gift certificate.
