PURPOSE: An exhaust valve retainer of a compressor is provided to improve gas flow to minimize and/or remove throttling loss related to compressed gas flow. CONSTITUTION: An exhaust valve retainer(48) includes a circular center body and a pair of flanges(102) extending outward in a radius direction. The flanges limit bores(104) used for fixing the exhaust valve retainer at a valve plate assembly by using a separate fastener. The circular center body limits a concave part(52) in which a spring is disposed. A circular concave part(110) extends into the circular center body, providing wall thickness for the exhaust valve retainer to achieve uniform density at an utmost upper part edge.
