PURPOSE: A display device and a driving method of the same are provided to reduce power consumption and to reduce fabrication cost and to increase productivity. CONSTITUTION: An organic EL display device(1) comprises an organic EL display panel(2), a data driver(3), a selection scan driver(5) and a power supply scan driver(6). The data driver flows a gray level designation current according to gray level coercively according to a control signal group(Dcnt) including a clock signal(CK1) inputted from an external circuit(11) or a luminance gray level signal(SC). The selection scan driver receives a control signal group(Gcnt) including a clock signal(CK2) inputted from the external circuit. The organic EL display panel has a display unit(4) on a transparent substrate(8).
