<p>A vehicle passenger safety system as shown in the figure for use where independent power is required. The system includes cooperating elements: an independent source of power (11), a passenger restraining belt (26, 27), crash event sensors (12), belt orientating structure (116), a source of inflating gas (15, 16), and in the preferred embodiment, programmed electronics that control functioning of the safety system and prolong the service life of the independent power source.</p> |
