PURPOSE: Provided is a method for controlling air cleaner which allows users to sleep well and simultaneously increases air cleaning efficiency by adequately controlling the rotating speed of a fan in a sleeping mode. CONSTITUTION: To control an air cleaner, which has a fan to circulate air and an input part to select an operation mode comprising a sleeping mode, the fan is operated at low speed during a time predetermined at the initial stage of the sleeping mode and the rotating speed of the fan is gradually increased to a maximum speed after elapsing the predetermined time.
