PURPOSE: An automatic announcement transmitting/receiving apparatus and method using local area wireless communication are provided to enable an automatic transmitter to detect an automatic announcement receiver located within a certain area and automatically transmit announcement information thereto. CONSTITUTION: An RF(Radio Frequency) transmitter/receiver(28) communicates with a wireless communication base station. A Bluetooth wireless transmitter/receiver(21) receives announcement information in a Bluetooth communication method from an automatic announcement transmitter. A data storing unit(26) stores the announcement information received by the Bluetooth wireless transmitting/receiving unit(21). A voice output unit(23) outputs voice information of the announcement information. A screen display unit(24) outputs image information of the announcement information. A power supply unit(25) supplies power to a receiver. A controller(22) receives power from the power supply unit(25), stores the announcement information received by the Bluetooth wireless transmitter/receiver(21) in the data storing unit(26), and transmits the voice information to the voice output unit(23) and the image information to the screen display unit(24).
