PURPOSE: A motor and a washing machine are provided to achieve improved efficiency of heat radiation by forming air flow channels in upper and lower portions of a stator, respectively. CONSTITUTION: A motor comprises a stator(50); a rotor cup(60) for covering the outer surface of the stator; a rotor(70) arranged on the inner surface of the rotor cup, in such a manner that the rotor rotates together with the rotor cup by the electromagnetic force generated between the rotor and the stator; a lower blade(66) arranged on the inner bottom surface of the rotor cup, in such a manner that the lower blade permits cooling air to enter through a cooling hole(64) formed at the bottom surface of the rotor cup; and a vent(68) formed at the lower portion of the side surface of the rotor cup, in such a manner that air flows to outside from the inside of the rotor cup.
