<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cogeneration system capable of easily and positively carrying out correctness/error confirmation of piping during a trial run. <P>SOLUTION: In an automatic trial run of the cogeneration system 10, water filling of a hot water storage tank 44, a trial run of a thermal storage unit 15, a trial run of a heating unit 14, and trial runs of a mixing unit 72 and a hot water supply unit 13 are carried out in this order. Piping confirmation of a power generation/heat recovery medium circulation passage 4 of the heat storage unit 15 is carried out by using water stored in the hot water storage tank 44 during confirmation of the water filling of the hot water storage tank 44. Piping confirmation of a circulation passage for heating is carried out by using heated hot water in the hot water storage tank 44 during the piping confirmation of the circulation passage 4. The hot water in the hot water storage tank 44 is also heated by the trial run of the heating unit 14, and piping confirmation of a hot water supply path 94 is carried out by using the hot water.
