PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the core of a rotary electric machine in which cogging torque can be reduced. SOLUTION: In the core of a rotary electric machine where a laminated core of first core members 3 arranged annularly with ties core pieces 2 and second core members 4 is abutted at the opposite end parts and connected, a protruding end face is formed at one end of the first and second core members 3 and 4 in the arranging direction of the ties core pieces 2 and a recessed end face being fitted to the protruding end face is formed on the other end such that the protruding end faces and recessed end faces of the ties core pieces 2 of the first and second core members are arranged in reverse directions and the surface is overlapped on the protruding end face side. At the opposite ends of the abutting part 10, projecting parts 11 of the first and second core members 3 and 4 and grooves 13 between the projecting parts 11 are formed and the opposite end parts of the core are connected by inserting the projecting parts 11 into the grooves 13.
