PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To output a shape value of a numerical value, which is easy to handle, for a particle existing in a region where a degree of a circle is high, and perform easily quantitative quality control concerning the shape of the particle existing in the region where the degree of the circle is high. SOLUTION: In this particle image analysis method, when at least one characteristic parameter is calculated from each of photographed particle images and distribution data by the characteristic parameter is prepared, at least -1/log (the degree of the circle) (the degree of the circle=(peripheral length of the circle having the same projected area value as the particle image)/(the peripheral length of particle projection image)) is calculated as the characteristic parameter.
