SHEET TRANSPORTING MECHANISM, LIGHT BEAM SCANNING DEVICE, AND IMAGE FORMATION DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet transporting mechanism and a light beam scanning device to work for transporting a sheet using two sets of rollers and capable of suppressing generation of a forefront intrusive obstruction at the second roller couple situated in the downstream and enhancing the transporting performance, the two items being established compatibly, and provide an image formation device equipped with the light beam scanning device and assuring an improved transporting performance of any object to be scanned and an improved picture quality formed on the object scanned. SOLUTION: The sheet transporting mechanism is structured so that the first roller couple 170 and the second roller couple 180 to transport each sheet upon pinching it are arranged at a shorter spacing than the sheet transporting length, wherein the second roller couple situated downstream about the transporting direction is arranged so as to maintain the nipping gap 183 which is narrower than the thickness of the sheet, and the nipping pressure of the second roller couple is made as being changed over between at least two stages.
