<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide image forming methods which impart high charging potential to an organic photoreceptor, suppress occurrence of image defects, such as black spots and voids, which tend to occur when gradation and sharpness are improved, and ensure broad gradation and good sharpness required by a color image, etc., and to provide an image forming apparatus using these image forming method. <P>SOLUTION: The organic photoreceptor has an intermediate layer in which metal oxide particles are dispersed in a binder resin between a conductive support and a photosensitive layer. The potential of an unexposed part (VH) of an electrostatic latent image in a development position satisfies the expression of 900 V≤¾VH¾≤1,500 V, and a relation between the potential of the unexposed part (VH) and DC bias potential (VDC) applied to a developing sleeve is within a specified range. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
