FLUOROSULFONIC ACID COMPOUND, PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THE SAME, AND USE THEREOF

A novel fluorosulfonic acid which has a stabler and higher acidity than conventional fluorosulfonic acids; a salt of the acid; and an intermediate for the acid. Also provided is a process for producing the novel fluorosulfonic acid, from which various derivatives can be easily synthesized. The acid is a compound represented by the general formula (1): R-S(=O)n-CF2-SO3H (wherein R is a group bonding to the adjacent sulfur atom through a carbon atom, and represents optionally substituted alkyl, optionally substituted haloalkyl, optionally substituted alkenyl, optionally substituted haloalkenyl, optionally substituted alkynyl, optionally substituted haloalkynyl, or optionally substituted cycloalkyl, etc.; and n is 1 or 2). A salt of this compound is also provided.
