PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image scanner for enhancing the original reading productivity without increasing a storage capacity of a primary storage device more than that of prior arts. SOLUTION: The image scanner acquires storage areas of the primary storage device in response to an image size of an original bundle to start image reading before start of reading of the original bundle, releases the storage areas after the end of reading of the final original so as to increase the original reading productivity without increasing the storage capacity of the primary storage device more than that of prior arts.
