<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner having excellent handleability with reduced mass in a vacuum cleaner main body by constituting a filter storage chamber with a smaller number of components, which can be easily mounted on the vacuum cleaner body so as to raise efficiency in production. <P>SOLUTION: The vacuum cleaner has the filter storage chamber as an auxiliary dust collecting space on the upper surface of the main body in an exhaust passage in the rear part of a main body dust collecting chamber. Exhausted air is made to easily flow into the filter storage chamber by providing a partition by slit to the side of the exhaust passage. A sheet member having partial light permeability is arranged on the outer surface of the filter storage chamber. A grid shape member such as a honeycomb structure is disposed under the sheet member, and an exhaust filter having a photocatalytic antibacterial function is arranged under the grid shape member.
