<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal device capable of surely preventing damages by improper loads. <P>SOLUTION: In a rotation opening and closing type portable telephone set 1, when loads in the direction different from an axial direction D1 of a rotation axis 6 are detected via an upper side push switch 12A and a lower side push switch 12B, a prescribed alarm is given off via a display part 2, an LED 7, and a speaker 8.
