PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure the reliability of a conveyance device and reduce its installation cost by horizontally conveying an object to be conveyed by a single or a few driving means , and to secure the reliability of the conveyance device and extend its service life without installing the driving means under severe enviroment. SOLUTION: This conveyance device 100 for carrying the object T, X to be conveyed in a horizontal direction is provided with: a horizontal movement part 104 to be moved in the horizontal direction by a first driving force; and an engagement part 130 which is installed in the horizontal movement part 104 and is regulated its posture by a second driving force. When the engagement part 130 is in a first posture state, the object T, X is conveyed by moving the horizontal movement part 104 in the state that the engagement part 130 is engaged with the object T, X or allowed to abut on the object T, X.
