PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new esculetin derivative and its production method in connection with esculetin (6,7-dioxycoumarin) useful as an intermediate or a starting raw material in a wide application field such as various medicines, cosmetics and chemicals such as plastic fiber or molded article and to produce high-purity esculetin by purifying esculetin via the esculetin derivative.
