Flexible cellular materials obtained by extrusion of a moisture curing monocomponent polyurethane prepolymer in the presence of a gas under pressure. Flexible cellular materials with an expanded polymeric matrix are obtained by extruding a monocomponent product comprising a macromolecular polyurethane prepolymer with terminal isocyanate or trialkoxysilyl groups which is self-curing in the presence of atmospheric moisture, in the presence of a gas under pressure. Independent claims are included for (1) a stable composition comprising the moisture curing polyurethane prepolymer; and (2) preparation of the cellular material by extrusion.
