<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a maintenance workability, on condition that a transfer unit is arranged in a turning support unit. <P>SOLUTION: As for the image forming apparatus provided with an image carrier for carrying a visible image, and a transfer unit (secondary transfer unit 52) for batch-transferring the visible image on the image carrier to a recording material while coming in press contact with the surface side of the image carrier through the recording material, the image forming apparatus is provided with the turning support unit (door unit 70) which is freely turnably arranged on one side part of the apparatus body, and also, which can be freely opened/closed with reference to the apparatus body while holding the transfer unit 52, and a door (side door 610) which is arranged on the other side opposite to the side of the apparatus body where the rotary supporting unit 70 is arranged and which can be freely opened/closed with reference to the apparatus body. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
