<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inverter in which signs of a failure and abnormalities can be grasped in the early stage by monitoring the output current. <P>SOLUTION: Threshold values SL1 and SL2 are provided depending on acceleration/deceleration operation and uniform (frequency matching) operation. Output current in acceleration/deceleration operation is monitored based on the threshold value SL1 and output current in uniform operation is monitored based on the threshold value SL2. When the output current reaches the threshold value, a decision is made that an abnormality has occurred and the fact is informed to a host controller where appropriate measures, e.g. notification of the abnormality and stoppage of the inverter, are taken. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
