A roof moving mechanism (3) assembled of two swivel mounted rods (4) and a main rod (5) and an adjusting mechanism (6) controlled by a hydraulic cylinder are swivel mounted (4a, 5a) to the vehicle (11) or another roof segment. One of the rods (4) is joined with a first joint element (4a) to the vehicle (11) and with a second element (4c) to the adjusting mechanism (3). In at least one final position the driven rod (7) of the adjusting mechanism (3) is crosswise arranged with the first rod (4). A joint lever (8) is swivel mounted between a second joint element (4c) at the first rod and a joint element (7b) located at the drive rod (7).
